2010 Mountains of Misery Finish Times

Here are the preliminary results for MoM 2010. The first sheet is the finish order, with both clock time (first column) and adjusted time (last column). The other sheets have adjusted times. We still have a few corrections to make.

Don’t forget to acknowledge, and thank, our volunteers!

Another year, another MOM. Terrific weather this year, and the SAG support seemed better than ever, though mercifully I did not need it. But it was good seeing the support vehicles constantly going by checking on us. Perfect weather, if a bit warm, and the volunteers were friendly and helpful. Hammer gel in abundance to help with the next climb. Loved the arch at the finish. Thanks for another great ride.

This was my first Mountains of Misery and I had a great time. I will definitely be back next year. Thanks to all the friendly and helpful volunteers.

Thanks to everyone involved with the MOM ride. It was first class in every category (including difficulty). The volunteers were great and they are to be commended. The effort that went into organizing the event was obvious. Thanks again.

My husband and I completed our first MOM yesterday. We are from Chicago and no Midwest ride compares in difficulty to your ride. What a wonderful feeling of accomplishment to finish and receive the coveted finisher’s shirt. The volunteers, rest stops, sag support and course markings were great. Maybe next year more vans could be available at the finish to transport finishers back down the mountain. Thank you for a well organized event. Everyone was very friendly and helpful!

What a well-organized ride. And FANTASTIC volunteers. And what a hill at the finish.

Great route, great atmosphere, great volunteers. Thanks so much for an awesome event, and the opportunity to crank out a ride I am proud of. Thanks also to all the guys I rode with for some good company! Finally, someone please email me at yeagerfrank@yahoo.com if you know of more photos (other than the great ones by Hill Event Photography) that are on the internet.
Thanks!

Thanks to all the volunteers. You make MoM the best supported ride on the East Coast. Everyone is so helpful. Since the hills are relentless, all of the stops along with the smiling, helpful volunteers made it possible to finish. Thanks to Jeff, Doug, Andy and Bill for making this year’s ride so much fun. Certainly by next year I will have forgotten how hard this ride is when it is time to sign up again.

Great day for a ride! Thanks all to helped us! (1) There was a photographer on the hairpin curve on John’s Creek Mountain (?) – Mile 60. Where are those photos? (2) Who the HELL was that crazy van driver (Van #16) who took our lives in his hand? The only time I was scared on Sunday was going down the mountain in that van.

Hi MoM Organizers.
I really enjoyed the century ride. Hats off to all of the great volunteers! And kudos to the wonderful sag support & mechanic who fixed Paul Spencer’s bike, so he could finish with me!

Barry: I don’t know who that photographer might have been, but hopefully they’ll share their photos! Everyone please send us your photos, or add a link to your photo galleries in the comments section of our photos page.

Thank you to everyone for making this such a fantastic ride. It was the most well-organized event of any kind that I have ever attended. It was absolutely perfect……except for the grade on that last hill!

The dude who was shooting photos at the hairpin turn on the first big climb posted them, along with pix from the start and finish, here: http://bicyclrman.smugmug.com/Road-Biking/Mountains-of-Misery/12371737_XzdWV#885407580_UpCaC
